Turning a Japanese Rice Bowl
Rabea will demonstrate how to make a traditional Japanese Rice Bowl on a Japanese lathe using hook tools and Jam chucks.
Japanese Scraper Demo
A demonstration of Japanese scrapers, both handled and handheld Types. This will also include a demo on “Kogatanna,” which are made of hacksaw blades, which often replace the use of sandpaper in Japanese woodturning.

We discuss the various Japanese chucks, their uses, how to make them, and why they can also provide great opportunities for Western turning.
