In this demonstration, I will show the audience all of the steps involved in turning a small basket illusion bowl. This will include selection of the wood, initial mounting of it on the lathe, turning and beading the exterior of the bowl, reversing the bowl into the chuck and turning and beading the interior of the bowl. I will then proceed to use my index system to draw the radial divisions onto the bowl, followed by burning these lines in, and finally laying out the pattern and coloring the bowl.
