Mark was recently awarded Lifetime Member status as a Dakota Woodturner. He has served in a leadership role within the club starting as the treasurer and then serving two terms as President/Vice President of the DWT. It was in the quest to learn how to make wood turned puzzles that got Mark interested in the art of wood turning. His woodturning interest wanders among turning, texturing, inlay and platters, woodburning, color and Zentangle. Always trying to learn something new, he has tried many different types of turning projects. Mark has attended many regional and national symposium and believes that those venues are a great place to learn new techniques and foster connections with other woodturners. As a former educator, he is always in teaching and learning mode. Because of this teaching background, Mark has made woodturning a family project as he collaborates with his daughter and wife in the barn.
